How do I volunteer?
Every school in our district needs volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, you must fill out the volunteer application and send it to hr@link75.org. If you would prefer to speak with a building administrator to learn more about the volunteering needs at a particular school, please contact the main office of that building.
Who volunteers?
Volunteers at MSAD 75 are parents, family members, community members and college students. We welcome the help of all responsible adults who value education, who enjoy working with students, and who will be good role models.
Do I need special credentials to be a volunteer?
There are two levels of volunteers at our district: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 2 volunteers will receive a background check conducted by the MSAD 75 Human Resources Department before they can begin working at any school.
Who guides/supervises school volunteers?
All volunteers will get direction from their supervising staff member. Supervising staff might be a Teacher, a school or district staff member, or the Principal.
What do you need to know as a volunteer?
As volunteers, you want to be friendly, kind and helpful. Teachers and Staff can help you set appropriate boundaries with students. You will need to focus full attention on the work at hand; behavior, dress and language must always be appropriate and professional. Please silence your cell phone in classes and around students. All MSAD 75 schools and facilities are tobacco-free sites, which means the use of any tobacco products are prohibited on all district campuses. Please note, it is also prohibited to use tobacco products in your vehicle when it is parked within district property.
What behaviors should volunteers expect from students?
Respect and kindness are important in every MSAD 75 school. All students should be able to show you what being kind and respectful looks like. If at any time you find a student being disrespectful or unsafe, please immediately report that behavior to your supervising teacher, the main office or the building principal.
What about disciplining students?
Discipline is solely up to MSAD 75 school staff. If you have questions about this, please speak to the building principal ahead of volunteering.
I am interested in being a substitute teacher and/or apply for a position at the district. What should I do?
Awesome! The first step for moving into a paid position within our district is getting a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) through the Maine Department of Education. Please contact MSAD 75 Human Resources for more information.
